I also came across a document that identified Sylvia Teresa de Jesus’ great great grandfather as
Zoilo
Ramon Beauchamp CUBA. This one turned out to be just as we suspected. This family line no longer has a missing link
and has been transferred to the main database.
I was also in touch with a first cousin who is a descendant of the Brugman Puig family line. Her son came across the blog
entry on Tia
Elsie who was his mother’s aunt. She is interested in touching base with anyone of the Brugman family. Let me know if you
would like to get in touch with her.
Last but least, I had the pleasure of meeting and spending some time with
Vinnie Sanabria and
his wife Yanira during a recent visit to DC. What a great couple!
Wishing all a great week!

Updating their Chabrier family lines are:
Luis Chabrier, a descendant of Bruno Concepcion Chabrier Brugman & Julia Torres Viruet,
is also celebrating the birth of a granddaughter. Luis got in touch with a cousin that informed him that
Celia Chabrier Torres de Pekarsky celebrated her 92nd birthday this past April. Felicidades Luis & Celia!
Laura Raffucci is a descendant of Celia Luis Chabrier Brugman & Francisca Rosa Laracuenta.
Luis & Laura are 2nd cousins and found their way to us, independent of one another, via the Web site.

It seems that every time I checked my e-mails I find we've been contacted by another Beauchamp descendant. So I took a tally of the number of people in the database
that have the Beauchamp surname as a paternal or maternal surname. In the main database there are 929 individuals and in the TBD database another 235! I kid you not!

The past few weeks have been an information being swapped between cousins marathon. Vinnie Sanabria put Kathy & I in contact with
several cousins who are researching different lines of the Beauchamp genealogy. We've also heard from a Chabrier, two Brugman and yet another Beauchamp
descendant.
Victor Sanchez III and his dad, Victor Sanchez II, contacted us wanting to identify the Nicolas Beauchamp from which they are descendants. We have our theories
but we need to do some further review of microfilms before we can be certain. However, it turned out that they are also Brugman descendants!
Victor & his dad brought in our cousin Yvette Carlo into the e-conversation which has resulted in revising the web pages for the family of
Juan Andres Brugman Cardona for which you will see that his surname has been revised. I have noted the surname combinations on
his page since there are sources available for each. Regardless, he is a descendant of Matias Brugman Duliebre.
Ivette Pol also contacted us with corrections and new information for her ancestors Arturo Pol Velez & Isabel Beauchamp Quinones
as well as for other members of that family line.
Narciso Chabrier has also submitted corrections & new information for his ancestors Narciso Chabrier Brugman & Providencia Andujar Santiago
as well as for other members of that family line. In addition, he was able to identify one of the persons in an unidentified photo.
WOOHOO! Thank you Siso!!
Much thanks to all for the warm collaboration. A heartfelt thanks to Kathy who helps me keep my sanity by managing the majority of e-mails.
Updates on the new Brugman, Chabrier & Beauchamp contacts will be posted later on this month. Wishing all a great holiday weekend...Julia

¡Hola Familia!
I'm working on updating a database which Kathy started for the slaves of our ancestors. The baptismal record for
Clara Asuncion Brugman lists her mother, Maria Clara Cardona, as property of Matias Brugman. Maria Clara Cardona and her descendants had been previously listed as a family line
for Matias. That family line has been removed from this Web site and will be uploaded and included with the other slave files at a later date.

It is with a heavy heart that I write that my cousin,
Gilbert Caquias Lopez, passed away on Sunday morning, May 31st, 2009. I will always remember Gilbert as a fun-loving guy with a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious smile and a big heart.
The foundation of the research which resulted in this Web site is due in part to Gilbert. He lovingly shared his paper files and photos with me 15 years ago catapulting my efforts. We spent many
hours on the phone & weekends at his basement into the wee hours feeding one another's obsession of the need to figure something out RIGHT NOW.
Gilbert's body will be put to rest on Friday but his soul has been singing and dancing all week long with the familia who have gone before us. (And trying to figure out how to get to us the
genealogy info that he is now privy to.)

¡Hola Familia!
Along the way of any genealogical research, you come across the relatives of someone who married into your family.
I have info on several such family lines. I have started to add these extended familias to the website. They are identified
by a yellow asterick to the left of the name and are linked to the person who married into the Brugman genealogy. This
update welcomes the Caban familiy to our website.
Jim Sallas Caravalho has provided me with some information and photos for the descendants of Pedro Beauchamp
and Maria Eduvigis Guzman who are listed under the Missing Links section. We have not yet located documentation that
identifies the maternal surname of Pedro Beauchamp which will allow us to merge this family line into the main database.
More to come! Wishing all a great weekend,
Julia

Happy Autumn!
Summer went by way too fast for me and Hallmark already
has Christmas Ornaments displayed for sale...Ay yi yi!
My computer moved on to technology heaven over the Summer after many years of
being pushed beyond its limits and faithful service. I am in the process of
installing my software into the new system which arrived this week. I hope to
add new material to the website in two weeks time. I've got a couple of projects
partially done so I'm not sure what I'll be adding first.
Check back around the 15th. Until then, I wish a healthy Fall season
to all!

¡Hola Familia!
I hope that this update finds everyone well. I'm working on adding more photos
to the individual records and I came across some unidentified photos for which I have
created the section, Can you solve these puzzles?. Please check
out the pages in this section. It might turn out that you know something about one of
the photos. Also, please feel to send me your unidentified photo with whatever information
you may have for it. I will create and add a page to this site for it. Please only send
photos that you believe to be related or connected the genealogy on this website.
The photos on this website have been acquired from many people and sources. I am slowly
identifying each photo with a note indicating how I came about that image. Position your
mouse over an image on this website and you will see the name of the person who provided
that image or its source. I'm still working on this so not all of the photos have this
notation.
Last but not least, I'm willing to create a links page which would list the websites, blogs,
Facebook, etc. of folks related to the genealogy of this website. So if you're interested,
send me your link and let me know how your link relates to the genealogy on this website.
Wishing all a great week,
Julia

Kathy and I just recently referred to Martin Gaudier’s books on Puerto Rican genealogy,
again. The wealth of information in the genealogies and biographies provided in these
books are invaluable. The indexes in these books list the genealogies in alphabetical
order and by city. I thought that it might be helpful to have the index pages handy so
I have made them available as downloadable PDF files on the RECOMMENDED READING page.
Wishing all a great week,
Julia

Happy June!
Vinnie Sanabria Terreforte has discovered the first name for one of the "Unknown First Names" in our database!
Via his research on Ancestry.com of the 1910 United States
Federal Census for information on the TERREFORTE family line, Vinnie found that Maria Alejandrina
Alers Beauchamp was married to VICENTE Rivera.
Thank you Vinnie for filling in one of our blanks.
Wishing all a great week,

identify the MISSING LINKS that will complete their ancestries.
Please review these files and contact us if you can provide additional information that might help
us to identify the missing link.

Welcome to the
redesigned web site
of FAMILIA.
FINALLY!
Throughout this web site, you may ignore the security message from Internet Explorer, if you see it, informing
you that it has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. The active
content on this website is a rotating series of images and other content features. Click on the information bar and allow the blocked
content and you will see the images. No harm will be caused to your computer by these features not can your computer be acessed by them.
As some of you know, I've been slooowly working offline to update this web site and then in January I got
the brainstorm to redesign it altogether. Those folks familiar with the original Web site will find all of
the original content, I think, I hope.
You will find on this web site family trees for 4 generations and 1,123 individuals of the 9 generations
and 3,846 individuals that make up our genealogy database. The partial listing on this web site is due to
identity theft & privacy issues. Contact us if you need to track a family line further than what is listed.
You'll need to provide an unposted connection that will convince us that you are related to that family line.
The surnames have been updated to read "Paternal Surname Maternal Surname". Yes, I heard your pleas to
correct this. I simply did not know 14 years ago how to rig up the files in the genealogy program so that
the combined surnames would list correctly.
Several folks reported that they would prefer one listing of all surnames and one listing of the individual
names available on the web site. The listings were previously broken down into the descendants of one of the
three families which resulted in visitors having to follow links back and forth since the family lines
intermingle so often. Done! This actually made my update easier.
New to the website are pages for Tito Lara, slideshows and
2 blogs. More will be added over the next few weeks so sign up to be notified about updates via e-mail.
I will use this space to keep you posted on additions to the site. The scroll box will allow me to add
messages without having to delete the old ones that may used for reference purposes.
Last but not least, this web site would never have been possible without the input of so many
